CEO Lars Erling Krogh believes that closed cages are the way of the future for sustainable fish farming.

Lars Erling Krogh - CEO of MMC First Process has been interviewed by KYST.no, and when asked which areas MMC First Process will be focusing on in the future, Krogh points in particular to the development of technology for closed cages in the sea.
Closed systems are something he believes offers a number of advantages, such as better fish welfare, less risk of escape, control of disease and reduced environmental impact.
- "This results in major savings for fish farmers, where we see potential for higher density and production compared with traditional cages."
He is pleased that changes in the regulations, such as the environmental spot scheme, are facilitating a transition to closed systems.
